Prof. Chandrasekar is a qualified B.Tech (Madras Institute of Technology, Chrompet) , MS in Operations from BITS-Pilani, CFA (ICFAI Business School) & PGDBM (IIM-Trichy). He brings to the classroom, a wealth of 28 years of industry experience which included long stints in the Manufacturing and IT sectors. Out of the 28 years, he spent 14 years in the capacity of General Manager for a large USA-based MNC. Organizations from where he gained his rich experience include T. I. Cycles, Ashok Leyland, Hindustan Motors, FMC Technologies & TVS group.

Prof. Chandrasekar is an author of two international publications. His latest international publication is a book on Customer Centricity and Globalization. He is also certified as a Lean Master and SAP consultant by SAP labs. He is also recognized as a Quality Auditor by Moody International.

At XIME Chennai, Prof. Chandrasekar teaches a wide range of courses in general management, operations, and IT & Systems specializations. He has formulated and delivered Management Development Programmes (MDP) on several areas related to Operations Management, such as:
